Gymnasts always blow me away; even the basic skills like a handstand I find very impressive. You are obviously very strong – how many chinups can you do? How long can you hold the chinup hold?
    Good luck,

cool conditioning-you could probably have been a gymnast if you had tried! Great work-i do my conditioning everyday for at least an hour and i compete at level 9-you must do your conditioning alot so you could be brilliant!

    um it just depends …
um it just depends on your strength. a press is mainly arm and shoulder strength and you do need a lot of strength.

from scratch you can always train them against a board. lean it up against the wall and that way you can straddle or pike your way down to the floor. just be sure to have your hands far enough away from the board so that your shoulders can go forward because thats a major thing in a press. and also it means that its only the starting bit you have to work on after that.

Thanks for replying…how long do you think it wld take to learn from pretty much scratch, because i really want to get it or at least get a straddle press from standing before i go to uni, which gives me about 6 months, not long really, lol.
