I am 16 years old, 6 feet 2 inches and 200 pounds. I have never been much of an athlete. This year I decided to join track and field at my school, but after attending several practices I notice I lack the speed, strength, and conditioning of other athletes on the team- actually, I’m the worst! I always come in last during runs and tire out much quicker than my friends. How do I improve this?
My horse does great barrel turns, but on the way home she runs hard, but seems to have more to give. Should I run longer sprints in practice? She is a TB/Quarter. Her Father used to race 1-1/2 mile races and won the Belmont in 68.
