I am a female approximately 20 pounds overweight and just joined a gym. We don’t have any personal trainers around here (very small town) so I have a routine online. It consists of 30 minutes of cardio then stretching then a strength workout with weights (3 sets of 12-15 repititions). I have no idea how much I should be lifting or how often I should do this for weight loss. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I’m in college and want to make sure I’m staying healthy.
I just made up my fitness schedule:
Monday: Arms-weights and 15 minutes of cardio (biking)
Tuesday: Legs-weights and 15 minutes of cardio (elliptical)
Wednesday: A swift walk around the campus perimeter
Thursday: PE Class (about 50 minutes of whatever workout our coach chooses)
Saturday: 45 minutes of cardio (whatever I choose)
I’m not looking to lose weight. Just stay where I am =]
Local Guard personnel to conduct exercises this weekend
They’ll do ‘Urban Operations Training’ along Bridge Street.

Day 1
Bicep Curls: 5 sets of 20 reps each using 17.8 llbs on each arm
Pushups: 5 sets of 17 pushups
Forearms Curls: 5 sets of 40 using 8 llbs on each arm
Shoulders(dont know what its called): I hold a 8llb dumbell in each hand and push them up at the same time and back down to the shoulder: 5 sets of 20 reps
*always a 60 second break between sets
Day 2:
Running on treadmill at 6.5mph for 20minutes
Punching bag for 20minutes
Situps: 5 sets of 20 reps
Leg Lifts: 5 sets of 15 reps
**60 sec break again
Then day 1 again.
