I just started weight training. I’m already doing cardio. I want to tone and really sculpt muscle. I am female, so I don’t mean like freakishly big muscles, but I’ve not worked out regularly for the past two years. Should I increase the weights every week. I go to the gym three times a week, or should I just up the weights when It starts to become easier to lift them.
Please only answer if you really know what you are talking about
I’m going to get weekly personal training for 15 weeks – and I’m nervous. I’ve never played a sport and I’ve never been an athlete. I’ve never run a mile (but that’s my goal). I am a little overweight from my pregnancy.
I just don’t know what to expect – will it be bearable? Should I expect any (physical) results in those 15 weeks? And how many times a week would I have to work out in addition to the personal training? I can make it 2/week, but I have a toddler at home so it’s hard to go to the gym more often.
And yes, I know I should ask the trainer this, I’m just wondering right now.

Once a day? Or only the days that you workout?
I just joined a fitness club and need some tips!
I’m 5′2″, average about 97lbs, and mainly going to the gym for my heart health and to increase my endurance. So far, I’m committing to weekly yoga, beginner spinning class, and a switch between the stairmaster and elliptical machine everyday other day. Should I add strength training into my week? If so, what kind? Also, is there anything I should change/doing wrong with what I’m committing to?
